برشلونة يمدد عقد مُدافعه الدنماركي "كريستنسن" لـ موسمين

أعلن نادي برشلونة الإسباني اليوم، توصله إلى اتفاق مع مدافعه الدنماركي أندرياس كريستنسن لتمديد عقده لمدة موسمين إضافيين، ليستمر مع الفريق حتى يونيو 2028.
وأوضح النادي، في بيان رسمي عبر موقعه الإلكتروني، أن الاتفاق تم مع اللاعب البالغ من العمر 30 عاما، على أن يتم الإعلان الرسمي خلال الفترة المقبلة من داخل مقر النادي.
وتأتي هذه الخطوة ضمن خطة النادي للحفاظ على ركائز الفريق وتعزيز الاستقرار الفني، خاصة في الخط الخلفي، مع الإبقاء على العناصر الأساسية التي يعتمد عليها الجهاز الفني.
وانضم كريستنسن إلى برشلونة قادما من تشيلسي الإنجليزي، وفرض نفسه منذ ذلك الحين ضمن خيارات الفريق الدفاعية، ليخوض الموسم المقبل عامه الخامس مع النادي، مقدما مستويات لافتة ساهمت في استمرار ارتباطه بمشروع الفريق المستقبلي.

Frankfurt, Germany: Jurgen Klopp has told the German FA (DFB) he is "fundamentally willing" to take over as Germany coach after Julian Nagelsmann handed in his resignation, the DFB confirmed on Friday. capturengo.com

Nagelsmann, who had a contract until 2028, stepped down from the job on Friday, just four days after Germany's disappointing last-32 exit to Paraguay.

Klopp, who led Liverpool to Champions League and Premier League honours, is currently under contract as Red Bull's head of global football, but Sky Germany reports he has a verbal agreement which would allow him to leave to take up the Germany job.

Nagelsmann's resignation comes a day after the 38-year-old was called into a three-hour meeting at DFB headquarters in Frankfurt to discuss his future.

German tabloid Bild reported the coach was offered a severance package of seven million euros ($8 million), roughly one year's salary, to cut short his contract which was set to expire in 2028.

"The decision was anything but easy for me," Nagelsmann said in a statement.

"My top priority has always been the success of the team. After such a bitter disappointment, it deserves the chance of a new beginning."

Nagelsmann apologised to fans for the early exit.

"I am sorry and hurt from the bottom of my heart that we disappointed you and couldn't give you any more football nights at this World Cup."

DFB sporting director Rudi Voeller said Nagelsmann "is and remains an excellent coach and I am convinced that he will continue to follow his path successfully".

Series of setbacks

Germany's loss to Paraguay is the latest in a series of setbacks for the four-time world champions, who suffered two group stage World Cup exits in Russia and Qatar.

The Germans have not fared much better at the Euros. Germany were eliminated by England at the last 16 level in 2021 and lost to eventual champions Spain on home soil at Euro 2024.

By moving on from Nagelsmann immediately after the World Cup, the DFB wanted to avoid a repeat of the situation in 2018 and 2022, when some felt they held onto an unsuccessful coach for too long.

Joachim Loew, a world champion in 2014, eventually left the position three years after the 2018 World Cup, with Flick leaving a year after the 2022 edition.

Nagelsmann's appointment was initially considered a coup for the DFB, with European clubs reportedly interested at the time.

Already the youngest coach in Bundesliga history when he took over Hoffenheim aged 28, Nagelsmann also managed Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig.

Initially appointed on a short-term deal for Euro 2024, Nagelsmann extended shortly before that tournament and then signed another extension in January 2025, which would take him to after Euro 2028.

Germany showed signs of a revival under Nagelsmann at Euro 2024, winning their group before losing in extra time to eventual champions Spain in the quarter-finals.

Al Ahly have reportedly reached an agreement with Dinamo Zagreb to sign Algerian forward Monsef Bakrar in a deal worth €3 million.

According to Croatian reports, Dinamo Zagreb have completed the agreement for Bakrar’s move to the Cairo giants.

The Croatian champions will receive a fixed €3 million fee, while performance-related bonuses could increase the total value of the transfer to €4 million.

Dinamo have also secured a 10% sell-on clause, which would entitle them to a share of any future transfer fee received by Al Ahly.

However, Bakrar is not expected to leave Zagreb immediately. Dinamo negotiated for the 25-year-old to remain available for both legs of their UEFA Champions League second qualifying-round tie against Swiss champions Thun.

The first leg will take place in Switzerland on July 21, before Dinamo host the return fixture on July 28.

Dinamo had previously rejected two Al Ahly offers before negotiations entered their final stages. But the clubs seem to have reached an agreement, although neither club has issued an official statement.

Bakrar joined Dinamo from New York City FC in August 2025 and signed a multi-year contract with the Croatian club. He scored 10 goals and provided four assists in 29 Croatian league appearances during the 2025/26 season.

The Algeria international previously represented ES Setif and Istra 1961 before moving to Major League Soccer in 2023.

He made 70 appearances across all competitions for New York City, scoring 10 goals.

Tokyo: Indian badminton star Pusarla Venkata Sindhu said Wednesday that "everybody is beatable" as she targets a medal at the world championships on home soil in New Delhi next month.

Sindhu won the world title in 2019 and also captured Olympic silver in Rio in 2016 and bronze in Tokyo five years later.

The 31-year-old is a massive star in her home country and will be the focus of attention at the world championships from August 17 to 23.

She told AFP in Tokyo, where she is playing at the Japan Open, that she expects to be in the mix for a medal.

"Right now, with the game I'm playing, I think I just need to do a little bit of small tweaks and stick to my game plan, irrespective of who the other player is," said the world number 10.

"Just keep fighting for every point. I feel that everybody is beatable."

Sindhu arrives in Tokyo after reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open last month.

Her last title came in December 2024 at the Syed Modi India International in Lucknow.

She believes playing at home will help her again at the world championships.

"There will be pressure, I will not deny that, but at the same time it's a kind of confidence when you play in your home court," she said.

"I think it's really good and I feel confident having it in our country."

Sindhu is not the only Indian player in contention for a medal next month.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are number four in the men's doubles world rankings, while Lakshya Sen is number 14 in men's singles.

"In India, I think after cricket, badminton is the next big sport," said Sindhu.

"In the last few years it's become a lot more, and we have a lot of athletes who are doing really well.

"It is quite popular and I feel that there will be a lot of crowds supporting India this time."

The last time the world championships were held in India was in 2009 in Hyderabad, Sindhu's home city.

She is hoping her country makes the most of the opportunity.

"For the youngsters, it will be a good thing to see top athletes who are coming to Delhi and playing at the top level," she said.

"It's a very good experience for the youngsters to see and learn a lot more."
