France : Tchouaméni apte pour la demi-finale contre l’Espagne
Le milieu de terrain de l’équipe de France Aurélien Tchouaméni est de nouveau apte à jouer et pourra postuler à une place pour la demi-finale de la Coupe du monde 2026 contre l’Espagne, mardi (19h00 GMT), a annoncé le sélectionneur Didier Deschamps lundi.
Le joueur du Real Madrid avait manqué les deux dernières rencontres des Bleus, face au Paraguay en huitièmes de finale (1-0) puis contre le Maroc en quarts de finale (2-0), en raison d’une blessure musculaire aux adducteurs.

« Le risque était trop élevé (contre le Maroc). Il est mieux. On ne peut pas dire qu’il est guéri à 100 %. Aujourd’hui, il est de nouveau disponible », a déclaré le sélectionneur en conférence de presse.
En l’absence de Tchouaméni, Manu Koné avait été associé à Adrien Rabiot dans l’entrejeu lors des deux derniers matches. Le retour du milieu de terrain offre ainsi une option supplémentaire à Didier Deschamps avant le choc face à la Roja.

Vague de disparitions à Madagascar: «Certaines institutions ont cessé de fonctionner dans l'intérêt général»
Que se passe-t-il à Madagascar ? Depuis plusieurs semaines le pays connaît une flambée de violences et de faits criminels qui traumatisent les populations et inquiètent les autorités. Des disparitions et des assassinats - en particulier d'enfants - sont régulièrement rapportés sur les réseaux sociaux. Jusqu'à la semaine dernière, 172 cas de disparitions, dont plusieurs personnes retrouvées mortes, avaient été annoncés. Les autorités malgaches ont depuis pris un certain nombre de mesures pour combattre le phénomène. Le 7 juillet dernier, la présidence a annoncé le déploiement immédiat de la garde présidentielle et de 400 éléments des forces de défense et de sécurité. Ces mesures sont-elles à la hauteur du climat de psychose ambiant à Madagascar et notamment à Antananarivo, la capitale ? JP: Be patient with Vusi
Sharks coach JP Pietersen believes Vusi Moyo has all the attributes to become a long-term Springbok flyhalf, but must be given time to grow into the role.
Moyo will make his Test debut in the Bok No 10 jersey against Wales at Kings Park on Saturday.
The 20-year-old was part of last year’s Junior Boks team that won the Junior World Championship and made his first senior appearance in the green and gold off the bench in the Boks’ non-cap match against the Barbarians in Gqeberha on 20 June.
Moyo is one of four Bok debutants this weekend, along with another former Junior Bok, winger Jaco Williams, and experienced forwards Carlü Sadie and Ruben van Heerden.
TEAM: Rookie 10 to call shots for beefed-up Boks
Pietersen believes Moyo has already shown he is ready for the step up.
“In winning the U20 World Cup, Moyo and Williams have the confidence to take things from there,” Pietersen told News24.
“Jaco played more URC games than Vusi [for the Sharks last season], as Vusi was injured, but one could see what they could do in the green and gold.
“Vusi is organised and can give and execute plans, and seeing what he did in the Barbarians game, it gave me confidence that he is ready for the bigger stage.
“Being in the Springbok mix now means he can learn from Manie Libbok, who is on the bench, and Handré Pollard, while Jaco can learn from the wings in the team.”
RASSIE: Vusi a big boy with soft hands
The former Bok wing believes Moyo has the temperament to enjoy a lengthy Test career, provided expectations remain realistic.
“With his creativity and big-match temperament, he is a player who can play for a long time for the Boks.
“We can also see what we have in Jordan [Hendrikse] and Siya [Masuku], and the three can compete hard for the [Sharks] No 10 jersey.
“We must just be patient with him and trust the process.”

SAFA president visits Jayden Adams’ parents at Stellenbosch family home
Jayden Adams, 25, died on 11 July, just weeks after helping South Africa reach the 2026 FIFA World Cup knockout stages.
The South African football community continues to mourn the loss, with SAFA president Danny Jordaan visiting the midfielder’s family in Stellenbosch.
DANNY JORDAAN SUPPORTS JAYDEN ADAMS’ FAMILY
Jordaan travelled to the family’s home in Idaas Valley township to offer support to Adams’ parents, Juanito and Candice Adams, as well as his surviving brother, Ronaldo Adams.
The visit came just days after the talented Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana midfielder passed away at the age of 25. Police discovered his body inside a residence in Cape Town’s Schotsche Kloof on 11 July, before launching an official inquest into his death.
The tragedy has shaken South African football, with tributes continuing to pour in from across the country and beyond.
Jordaan spent time with the grieving family as they continue to deal with the devastating loss of one of South Africa’s brightest football talents.
Meanwhile, Western Cape police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding Jayden Adams‘ death. Authorities have not yet confirmed the official cause of death.
Both Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie and Adams’ father, Juanito Adams, have urged the public to avoid speculation while the family waits for the final autopsy results.
WORLD CUP HERO REMEMBERED
Jayden Adams had reached the biggest moment of his career at the recent 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The midfielder featured in all three group-stage matches against Mexico, Czechia, and South Korea as Bafana Bafana reached the knockout stages of the tournament for the first time in history.
He also displayed remarkable courage by starting against Czechia just hours after learning of the passing of his grandmother, Marianna Adams.
His death prompted tributes from around the world, including FIFA president Gianni Infantino, while players and supporters observed a moment of silence during the World Cup quarter-finals.
A LEGACY THAT WILL LIVE ON
Before joining Mamelodi Sundowns in January 2025, Jayden Adams became the first academy graduate to sign a professional contract with Stellenbosch FC.
He made 139 appearances for the Cape Winelands club and helped them win the 2023 Carling Knockout Cup before moving to Pretoria. At Sundowns, he lifted the Betway Premiership title and the CAF Champions League during the 2025/26 campaign.
Kaizer Chiefs: List of five players who exited the club so far
Kaizer Chiefs have now confirmed five departures during the current transfer window as they continue reshaping their squad ahead of the new season.
Under new coach Fernando Da Cruz, Amakhosi are streamlining the squad in preparation for the 2026/27 campaign, with experienced midfielder Gaston Sirino becoming the latest player to leave Naturena.
The 35-year-old Uruguayan departs after two seasons at the club, having scored five goals in 52 appearances across all competitions. Sirino is expected to join newly promoted Durban City on a free transfer.
Kaizer Chiefs announced his departure in an official statement on Monday.
“Amakhosi bid farewell to Sirino. As Kaizer Chiefs bid farewell to Gaston Sirino, the Club would like to express sincere gratitude to Papi for his dedication and contribution over the past two seasons. The experienced Uruguayan midfielder played a key role in helping Amakhosi achieve success since he arrived at the Club.
“We thank Gaston for his commitment and passion, as well as all the memories he leaves behind at Naturena,” the club wrote.
Sirino latest to leave Kaizer Chiefs
Sirino becomes the fifth confirmed departure of the off-season.
Earlier, Chiefs announced the release of striker Tashreeq Morris, who struggled to establish himself after arriving from SuperSport United.
Long-serving duo Happy Mashiane and George Matlou were also let go after finding regular game time difficult to come by. Mashiane spent last season on loan at Siwelele FC, while Matlou’s campaign was disrupted by injury after making only sporadic appearances.
Defender Aden McCarthy became Kaizer Chiefs’ first departure of the window after completing a transfer to Azerbaijani side Sabah FK last month.
Meanwhile, Ashley Du Preez’s future remains unresolved, with the forward continuing to be linked with a move back to Stellenbosch FC.
