આ 8 નવા નિયમો ખેલાડીઓ પર લગામ કડક બનાવશે
વર્લ્ડકપ 2026ના નવા નિયમોમાં સૌથી મહ્તવનું છે ખેલાડીઓનો હાથથી ચેહરો છુપાવવા પર પ્રતિબંધ લગાવ્યો છે. હંમેશા ખેલાડીઓ આ રીતે ટીમના ખેલાડીઓ સાથે કે પછી વિરોધી ટીમના ખેલાડીઓ સાથે વાત કરે છે. પરંતુ હવે આવું કરી શકશે નહી. જો કોઈ ખેલાડી આવું કરતા પકડાય છે તો સીધું રેડ કાર્ડ દેખાડવામાં આવશે. saltysenoritaaz.com
કોર્નર કિક અથવા પેનલ્ટીના નિયમમા ફેરફાર
તેવી જ રીતે, થ્રો-ઇન, કોર્નર કિક અથવા પેનલ્ટી દરમિયાન, બોલ મેદાનમાં પ્રવેશે તે પહેલાં જ ખેલાડી ફાઉલ કરે છે અને વિડિઓ આસિસ્ટન્ટ રેફરી (VAR) તપાસ કરી શકે છે અને પેનલ્ટી આપી શકે છે. હાલમાં, VAR ફક્ત કાર્યવાહી ચાલુ હોય ત્યારે જ દાખલ કરે છે.

ગોલકીપરને હવે 5 સેકન્ડ સમય મળશે
સામાન્ય રીતે થ્રો-ઈન કે ગોલ કિકના સમયે આઉટફીલ્ડ ખેલાડી કે ગોલકીપર વધારે સમય લે છે. પરંતુ હવે સીધા 5 સેકન્ડના કાઉન્ટડાઉન થશે તેમજ આમાં ફેલ થવા પર તેની વિરોધી ટીમને થ્રો-ઈન કે પછી કોર્નર કિક મળશે.
ટીમને 10 સેકન્ડની અંદર મેદાનમાં પ્રવેશ
આ રીતે ટીમને 10 સેકન્ડની અંદર ખેલાડી સબસ્ટીટ્યુટ કરવાના રહેશે. જો આવું થાય છે તો સબસ્ટિટ્યુટ ખેલાડીને 1 મિનિટ સુધી રાહ જોવી પડશે. જો આવું તો આ ટીમ ત્યાં સુધી એક ખેલાડી વગર રમશે.
નિર્ણયના વિરોધમાં મોટો ફેરફાર
જો કોઈ રેફરી કે કોઈ નિર્ણયના વિરોધમાં કોઈ અન્ય કારણથી મેદાનની બહાર જાય છે. તો આખી ટીમને સજા તરીકે રેડ કાર્ડ દેખાડવામાં આવી શકે છે.
ઈજાગ્રસ્ત ખેલાડીઓ મોટો નિયમ
જો મેચ દરમિયાન કોઈ પણ ખેલાડી ઈજાગ્રસ્ત થાય છે તો તેને આ મેદાન પર પરત ફરતા પહેલા એક મિનિટ સુધી પિચથી દુર રહેવાનું રહેશે. ત્યારબાદ તે સ્વસ્થ થઈ પરત ફરી શકે છે.
ગોલકીપર ડગ આઉટમાં વાત કરી શકશે નહી
આ સિવાય જો ગોલકીપર ને ઈજા થાય છે અને મેડિકલ ટીમ તેની તપાસ કરી રહી છે. તો આવી સ્થિતિમાં કોઈ પણ ટીમના ખેલાડી ટેક્નિકલ એરિયા એટલે કે, ડગ આઉટમાં જઈ કોચિંગ સ્ટાફ સાથે વાત કરી શકશે નહી.

French Open: Mensik seals first-ever Grand Slam semifinal; Zverev beats Jodar
Paris [France], June 3 (ANI): Jakub Mensik sealed his first-ever major semifinal spot, beating teen sensation Joao Fonseca in the quarterfinal of the French Open on Tuesday night.
The 20-year-old Mensik overcame 19-year-old Fonseca 6-4, 6-3, 7-6(3). The clash between two of tennis’s most exciting young talents saw Mensik absorbing and giving back to Fonseca’s firepower, and he became the first man born after 2004 or later to reach the semifinals of a Grand Slam in a match that lasted two hours and 33 minutes.
Both stars were competing in their first-ever Grand Slam quarterfinals, and it was Mensik who rose to the occasion, becoming the youngest Czech player to reach the semifinal of a Grand Slam.
“We started a little bit nervous, then at the end of the match, there were some incredible shots," Mensik said in his on-court interview as per ATP’s official website. “I am super happy that I came back. In the third set, I was a couple of breaks down, so I am happy I managed to stay focused and keep fighting until the end," he added.
After winning the youngest French Open quarterfinal since 20-year-old Rafael Nadal defeated 19-year-old Novak Djokovic in 2006, Mensik’s semifinal challenge will be the second seed and 2024 French Open finalist Alexander Zverev.
On the other hand, Zverev outclassed another rising young talent, beating Rafael Jodar 7-6(3), 6-1, 6-3 on Tuesday. Zverev, who had dropped just one set in his five matches, rallied from being 2-5 down in the opening set and was largely dominant in a two-hour, 17-minute clash.
“It was difficult," Zverev said in his on-court interview. “He had perfect rhythm in the first set and I did not. My balls were very short, and I was very defensive. The conditions [under the roof] were completely different. The string tension was different, the way the ball reacted off the ground was different. The ball was not bouncing as high, so heavy topspin was not really beneficial, and I had to flatten my shots out a little bit more."
“He was playing amazing and outplayed me in the beginning of the first set, but I managed to come back, and he played a little bit of a nervous game when he served for it. Then I took my chances well, and after that it was a good match for me," he signed off. (ANI)

PAK vs AUS 2026 2nd ODI: Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam had a night to forget in the second ODI against Australia at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Tuesday and so did the rest of the team. After their comprehensive win in the opening game last week, Shaheen Afridi’s Pakistan were brought crashing down to earth with a 41-run loss in the second ODI match as Babar Azam was dismissed cheaply.
Australia and Chennai Super Kings pacer Nathan Ellis wrecked havoc as Pakistan were never in the hunt to chase down a modest target of 232 to win in the second game of the three-match series. Ellis claimed 4/33 in 9 overs including the prize wicket of Babar Azam for a run-a-ball 16 apart from dashing opener Maaz Sadaqat for a first-ball duck.
Babar, who scored a match-winning 38th ODI fifty in the first game, fell leg-before to Ellis as Pakistan slipped to 33 for 3 in the 5th over of their chase. Ellis, who was retained by MS Dhoni’s CSK for Rs 2 crore ahead of the IPL 2026 season, had missed the T20 league due to injury. The Aussie pacer had Babar caught leg-before for 16 and came back later in the innings to also dismiss Arafat Minhas for 33 off 48 balls and Haris Rauf for a duck.

“I think when you’ve got the new ball on a wicket like this, you want to try and maximise it for as long as you can. On nights like this, it’s not that long. You try and get up there and swing it for four, five or eight balls, and then you get into your work, as we saw both teams do today,” Ellis said about claiming early wickets with the new ball.
Ellis was the only lead pacer in the Australian line-up packed with spin bowlers for the second ODI but he revealed he didn’t feel much pressure of carrying the bowling burden. “Not added pressure. I think it’s definitely different to the traditional one-day cricket we see around the world at the moment. One of the big strengths of this group is the willingness to be flexible, adapt and try things a little out of the ordinary. So no extra pressure, but it was a little different,” Ellis said in the post-match presentation.
Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan came up with resolute 71 off 104 balls after the home team had been reduced to a dismal 78 for 6 in the 17th over of the match. Apart from Ellis, all-rounder Matthew Short claimed 3/36 while Matthew Kuhnemann, Adam Zampa and Tanveer Sangha claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, Australia posted a competitive 231 for 9 thanks to half-centuries from their skipper Josh Inglis (51 in 74 balls) and Cameron Green (53 in 92 balls) while Matt Renshaw smashed a run-a-ball 43. “It was a pretty good total in the end. It would have been nice for someone to go on and get a big score, but it was about building partnerships through the middle overs and being patient. We thought anything over 200 meant we were right in the game,” Inglis said after the match.
The three-match ODI series is now level at 1-1 with the third and final game of the series to take place in Lahore on Thursday.
FIFA WC: Norway coach hails “easy going superstar” Halaand ahead of tournament opener
Oslo [Norway], June 3 (ANI): Norway football team head coach Stale Solbakken hailed team’s “easy-going superstar" Erling Haaland and spoke on his team’s status as the dark horse contenders to go far in the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
A Haaland-powered Norway secured their spot in the FIFA World Cup after a 28-year absence from the tournament last year under Solbakken, who was part of the squad at the FIFA World Cup 1998. The Manchester City striker has been exceptional for Norway in the Qualifiers and enjoys the status as the biggest superstar of the team.
But despite all the stardom, records and club trophies, Erling does not have any ego, and the coach admits he is an “easy guy to coach".
“Erling Haaland is a very easy guy to coach," Solbakken said as per FIFA’s official website.
“He wants the best for the team, he loves to be with his team-mates, and he loves to have fun with all the staff around the team. He is a very easy-going superstar," he added.
Solbakkaen says that the qualification means a lot of the whole nation, especially the fans.
“I think it means a lot for the whole nation, especially the common supporter. I waited for this for a long time, and I think it has been hard for everyone to sit at home at every World Cup back to when I played in 1998," he said.
He also said that after the qualification was sealed, 50,000 fans came to meet the players in extreme cold.
“Fifty thousand fans came to meet us [after qualification was confirmed] on a Monday in minus four [degrees], so that says it all. They have waited for this moment for so long, and now it is finally here. I feel relieved, because you are living with this pressure in this job. Obviously, after we beat Italy 3-0, everyone said ‘Now, finally, we will do it’, but you know in football everything can happen," he said.
“My feeling is still that I am so relieved, not only for the players, but also the doctors, physios, everyone – because they have maybe been here longer than me and been in more qualifications that have not gone well," he added.
Ahead of the World Cup, Norway have emerged as a “dark horse" to make it deep in the tournament, having placed in Group I with France, Senegal and Iraq. But the coach is not really comfortable with the tag.
“I do not think we are dark horses to get all the way. I think we are dark horses in terms of, on our day, we can maybe beat a stronger opponent. But to say that we are dark horses for the whole tournament is too far," he said.
“We are in a very hard group. Obviously, France is a big favourite in that group, and then the other three countries have to fight for second place and third place. I think it will be very tight and hopefully we have the organisation and the match-winners to get through," he added.
He is convinced if Norway are at their best, they could play the round of 32 and hopefully beyond.
“For Norway, this is the World Cup to express themselves – to show the world that we play, maybe, a different kind of football than what we have done before, and that we are an offensive team with good individuals that work hard for each other," he said.
On his ultimate goal for the World Cup, he refused to reveal, saying “my dreams are for myself".
“But hopefully we can get the best out of the team and on our day, then we can beat anyone," he signed off. (ANI)
